About Teenage Helpline
Teenage Helpline is an online mentoring service run by young people to be used by young people. The aims of Teenage Helpline are to provide the first stepping-stone for young people who may need to get professional support, but do not feel comfortable seeking this support for themselves. We also provide mentoring for young people who do not need professional support, but who need a little extra attention and support to help them cope with other personal issues.
About the role
The Social Media Manager is responsible for Teenage Helpline’s presence across social media platforms. Their role is to design and develop content in line with the charity’s aims and to develop social media strategy to meet our aims; to co-ordinate the publication of content; and propose and implement improvements to increase engagement and overall effectiveness.
Work closely with the rest of the marketing, public affairs and comms team to develop Teenage Helpline’s social media strategy.
Design and develop diverse, multi-media content that is engaging, relevant and visually appealing.
Ensure that content posted to social media is relevant; adheres to Teenage Helpline’s branding guidelines; supports the charity’s overall aims.
Coordinate the frequent publication of content for social media campaigns across Teenage Helpline’s social media platforms.
Liaise with other departments to gather information for use in social media campaigns.
To monitor and analyse the success of social media campaigns in order to identify weaknesses, propose recommendations for improvement and implement changes to enhance effectiveness - this has some support from another team member.
Prior experience in social media and/or communications
Creativity to develop original and appealing content.
The ability and confidence to start work from scratch.
Attention to detail to ensure that content is consistently of a high quality and adheres to branding guidelines.
Organisational skills and the ability to deliver set tasks on time.
Excellent IT and social media skills, and proficient use of Microsoft applications.
